Carlos Slim of Mexico extended its lead at No. 1. in the Forbes 2011, breaking records with a total net worth of $ 74 billion.
Bill Gates of Microsoft is in second place of $ 56 billion and Warren Buffett of Berkshire Hathaway comes at a close third with $ 50 billion.
Forbes list of billionaires is based on an annual evaluation of wealth and assets compiled.
